Until not so long ago, many stories on the environment in China focused on smog and air pollution, while less attention has been paid to the problem of water pollution. But in recent years problem has become so severe that according to the?Institute of Public and Environmental Affairs, only?35% of the researched sites across China have water of good quality. China is facing this issue with strict new environmental regulations, as a result of which water treatment industry has become one of the most profitable industries in China. Watertech Beijing 2019 offers a perfect platform for water treatment industry professionals to exchange their ideas about business and water technology, and find the way to coordinate these ideas with the latest policies of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. ?However, it is important to emphasize that facing this issue requires paradigm shifts of the water conservancy development towards maximizing economic and natural capitals, prioritizing investment to preserve intact ecosystems and to restore degraded ecosystems, adapting climate change, balancing construction of new water projects and rejuvenation of existing projects, and managing both “blue” (surface/groundwater) and “green” water (soil water). This is why the exhibition is complemented by forums and events delivered by prominent policy-makers and international green-tech industry experts. Some of the events are “ Membrane Forum”, “The 2nd Industrial Waste Water Treatment Technology Seminar”, “The 5th China Water Purification Industry Eco-Summit” and “Development of Water Processing Industry & Investment of Financing? Forum (WIIF 2018)”. The hosts invited visitors from 38 countries, including the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia, in order to promote direct communication between exhibitors and buyers.
Watertech Beijing is one of the largest international water trade shows in Northern China for water processing, drinking water and wastewater. The exhibition has been successfully held in partnership with the Water and Membrane China (organized by China Membrane Industry Association) since 2015. With a display area of 40,000 square meters, Watertech China (Beijing) integrates 5 parts (Membranes, Waste Water Treatment, Point-of-Use, Pumps, Pipes and Valves, Water Pipelines).
